Shanghai Astronomical Observatory – Chinese Academy of Sciences (China)

MEGASTAR-Neo is installed in the planetarium dome on the rooftop of the main building of SHAO as a hybrid projection system with the digital planetarium SkyExplorer (RSA Cosmos, France). This planetarium serves as a research facility for the display and outreach of scientific data from the China Space Station Survey Telescope (CSST) and is not normally open to the public.

As part of the China VLBI  Array and the European VLBI Network (EVN), SHAO operates the 25 m (82 ft) Sheshan radio telescope. SHAO has a long history and plays an important role in Chinese astronomical observations.
